My Background
A Born Entertainer
I, Sylvia Hayes, am a native of Magee, Mississippi and I had an interest in the entertainment field as early as the 5th grade where I tried to join the school's marching band. I song in several gospel groups and choirs. Though I was in nursing school, my acting career started at Utica Jr. College when I was in the Thespian Club and was the lead character in a play. After leaving Utica I went on to the University of Southern Mississippi and majored in Theatre.
I moved to Atlanta in 1981 to pursue a career in all aspects of entertainment. I have modeled, danced on a tv show, made costumes, made puppets and puppeteering, acted in plays and movies such as "The Gospel", "Selma", "Birth of Destiny", "Star", "Night School", and "Full Count" only to name a few. I found the theater troupe The Rainbow Players and co-wrote, directed, acted in, and produced the play "The Diaspora Experience". I am a director at People TV and I also host a live show there which I also produce.
Currently, I am a co-owner and director of Reliable Team Media, a production company that films and produces "The Church Ladies Cooking Show" as well as other productions and the owner and CEO of Alive & Kickin Productions, LLC. My working as a stagehand in various productions and concerts has made me well-rounded in the industry.
I am the author of the book "Power Thoughts" which my company Alive & Kickin Productions published. My love and desire to help people succeed in life was the driving force behind this book. That love has extended to Health and Stress Management because the love of wellness has never left me.
